Keep your teeth for a lifetime!

Its very important to look after your teeth and gums.

Easy tips to healthy teeth and gum:
* Brush and floss twice a day.Use a soft bristed toothbrush,that will not scratch and irritate teeth or damage gums.
* Use fluoride toothpate and mouthrinse.
* Cut down on the frequency of sugary snacks & dricks.
* Visit a dentist/dentalhygienist at least once a year.
Proper Brushing
Place bristles along the gumline at a 45-degree angle. Bristles should contact both the tooth surface and the gumline.
Gently brush the outer/inner tooth surfaces of 2-3 teeth using a vibrating back & forth rolling motion. Move brush to the next group of 2-3 teeth and repeat.
Tilt brush vertically behind the front teeth. Make several up & down strokes using the front half of the brush.
Place the brush against the biting surface of the teeth & use a gentle back & forth scrubbing motion. Brush the tongue from back to front to remove odor-producing bacteria.

Remember to replace your toothbrush every three months.

Plaque is the cause of TOOTH DECAY and GUM DISEASES

Tooth Decay - Frequent comsumption of sugary food and drink can cause tooth decay.Bacteria in the mouth convert the sugars into acids which attack the tooth.The acids in contact with the tooth can over time dissolve it, forming holes in the tooth which would then need to filled.

Gum Disease - Poor cleaning of the teeth and the gum margin can lead to irritation of the gums and cause them to become inflamed. Signs of inflamed gums:
* Swollen gum, *Red and bleeding gum on brushing.

Periodontal disease - If Gum disease is left untreated, may develop into periodontal disease. This may lead to tooth loss.
